The Swiss maestro Roger Federer is one of the few players who had the opportunity to meet the late Queen Elizabeth II. On September 8, 2022, the Queen passed away at the age of 96. The former world number one is among those athletes who have played in front of the Queen. The tennis ace has played some of his best and memorable matches at Wimbledon. 

He has a record of five straight wins at Wimbledon from 2003 to 2007, and overall he has won eight titles played at the All England Club in London. After announcing his retirement, the tennis legend will play his final ATP tour event this month in the Laver Cup.

Roger Federer recalls meeting the Queen

Recently, Federer opened up about a lot of things in a recent conversation. After announcing his retirement, he talked about his tennis career, the Laver Cup, and the time he met the Queen.

Federer recalled his time back in 2010 when he met the Queen and expressed his gratitude over being able to meet her. He said, “When I saw her funeral, I thought again about how lucky I was to be able to experience that.

Notably, the 20 time grand slam champion is ready to give his 100% in his last clash. A few days back, some videos of him practicing in London have surfaced on the internet alongside Borg, who’s the captain of Team Europe.
