David Goffin is soon going to hit the racquets against the World No. 4, Alexander Zverev in the Roland Garros. While the Belgian tennis pro takes a step ahead in the tournament, cheering him on will be his wife, Stephanie Tuccitto. But their love story has a surprising twist! Many might not know that Stephanie herself once shared her husband’s passion for tennis.

The current Belgian No. 2 player, David Goffin, has been making waves in the tennis world since he turned pro in 2009. However, on the other hand, it was a year earlier (2008) that his wife, Stephanie Tuccitto, decided to stop playing tennis. Why? Because even though she loved playing tennis as a kid, later on, she lost interest in the sport. Instead, her dreams were fixated on completing her degree in communications from the University of Liege. And the 33-year-old did exactly that. 

However, the former Belgian tennis player’s connection to tennis did not end there. This is because she soon met her now husband, the 33-year-old player, Goffin, in 2012 and fell in love with the player. After dating for nine years, the couple finally tied the knot in 2021 at a private event. It was the same year that Goffin’s season was cut short (due to his injuries) after his U.S. Open exit. However, he used the time off-court to marry his long-term girlfriend. And Tuccitto, who previously said, “I’m very classic in love, I’d like to get married and have children,” was also over the moon.

Stephanie Tuccitto frequently travels with David Goffin to many of his tournaments to support him in the matches. After their marriage,, the couple was together during the 2022 Wimbledon tournament as well. In an interview, Tuccitto once revealed what she likes to do during the trips while his husband prepares for the matches.

“I like to discover cities, David and I love shopping too, I read magazines, I do fitness, I accompany David to his physical training.” Not only off the court, pictures on Tuccitto’s Instagram also suggest that she even practices tennis with her husband as well. Tuccitto’s support for Goffin is visible, but soon, there will be a new pair of hands to clap for him during the matches!

On May 7, David Goffin and his partner delighted their fans on social media by announcing that they are expecting their first child. And embarking on this new journey together has made both of them happier than before. Tuccitto has never shied away from addressing his “amazing” life with David. And this new journey is only going to add more to that. Few years ago, Tuccitto confessed about her feelings on meeting with his husband.

“You know, my meeting with David changed. my life, I often say: David realizes his dream and I do everything he can to realize his ambitions. That way, it becomes our dream for both of us. It’s an amazing life and I’m lucky to be part of it. ” Hopefully, as they both continue to fill their lives with love, it will reflect on David Goffin’s on-court performance as well.
