Carlos Alcaraz has had newfound popularity ever since he won the 2023 Wimbledon title against Novak Djokovic. The Spaniard was on a momentous roll until it was quashed by Tommy Paul in the Canadian Open. Frustrated at how the match was proceeding, Alcaraz threw his racket at his bench. The move did not settle well with a fan of the Djoker, who pointed out that Alcaraz did not receive a code violation. To come to his defense, Nick Kyrgios?lashed out at the fan for dragging the Spaniard’s name.

The Nole fan in question is referring to the possibility that Djokovic would’ve been called outright on it. In fact, the temperamental Serb has been called out by tournament umpires many times about antics that violate the game’s rules of conduct. While Alcaraz also engaged in such an act, he seemingly got away with it.

As Alcaraz faced Tommy Paul, fans expected their favorite to emerge triumphant without much trouble. However, the Wimbledon champ found his hands to be full with a big challenge. Paul came into the match, all guns blazing, and won the first set 6-3. Frustrated, Alcaraz threw his racket at the bench, a move which flew under the radar of many, but not all.?

A tennis blogger and a fanboy of the Djoker highlighted the move and talked about no warning or violation. He wrote, “No code violations for boy wonder. ?“.?

Angry at the comment, Nick Kyrgios lashed out at the blogger and said, “Who the fu*k cares?. The dude is gonna be carrying the tennis load for the next decade.. good on him for showing he is human. Frustrated not playing up to standards. Also let’s start giving codes to umpires ?“.

Although a sign of frustration, Alcaraz recovered in the second set. However, it was not enough, as Paul became an insurmountable player going into the third set.

After Wimbledon, fans were sure the 20-year-old would win the Canadian Open. However, the heavy favorite couldn’t pull through as he was faced with a Tommy Paul who aimed to be at the top. An unexpected loss of the first set became a point of stress for Alcaraz, who acted out in a highly uncharacteristic move.

Alcaraz came back to win the second set, but the American rising star was not ready to accept any form of defeat. The third set ended similarly as the first set for a final score of 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 in the American’s favor.
