It all started a few months ago, ATP came forward and shared an initiative that will help players with their basic finances that are needed in the early stages of their career. But now that the initiative is ready to be a part of the 2024 tennis season, the Italian former tennis player shared his thoughts on how the financial security system will work to benefit the newcomers in the sport, as well as the other players struggling with the same.

He stated, “So what we try to achieve with baseline, it gives some sort of baseline guarantee for the players. In years, whether, for example, they have either poor performance or they have injuries, and also provide a bit of help, a boost to younger players the newcomers who probably don’t have the financial means to actually enter the tour.”

In addition, he underlined that having been a player himself, he is aware of how one of the largest obstacles in the early stages of a career is associated with expenses. He went on to say that other worries might have to do with hiring a coach or a physical trainer or even with the cost of travel.
