Bjorn Borg is a legend of tennis. The Swedish player has inspired an entire generation, along with other legends. While he was a great star on the tennis court, his relationships off the court were not as solid as his form. He retired from the sport at the age of 26 and married Loredana Bertè, an Italian singer and actress. Their marriage would end after five years, and it would not end on a good note.

However, the Italian singer manages to find humor in her life by irritating her ex-husband. She recently stated that she wants to win a singing competition in Sweden and find a way to annoy her ex-husband.

Bjorn Borg’s ex-wife aims to annoy him

The Eurovision Singing Contest is an international competition organized by the European Broadcasting Union. Each participating country submits an original song that will be performed live and aired to national broadcasters via the Eurovision and Euroradio networks. Consequently, the competing countries will vote on the other countries’ songs to select the winner.

Loredana Bertè, who is representing Italy with the song ‘Pazza’, has asked the country to vote for her so she can go to Eurovision in Sweden and annoy Bjorn Borg. “I want to win, I want to go to Eurovision, it’s held in Sweden and I want to annoy my ex-husband,” she said in Sanremo. 

As fans around all over the world read the comment, they asked Italian fans to vote for her and fulfill her wish. While it is amusing to see an ex-wife annoying her ex-husband, it begs the question, why does she want to poke the former tennis player?

The split of Borg and Bertè

Bjorn Borg and Bertè started dating in 1988, and the two had their nuptials in 1989. They eventually moved to Sweden, but the two would not have a long marriage. They divorced each other in 1992. In her 2015 autobiography, Bertè said that she split from Borg due to his addiction to Cocaine. The singer also said that he hosted orgies and would try to force her to have relationships with others.

Their split was mutual, but by no means was it amicable. Bertè has still held on to the rage from their split and said that in addition to representing her country, she wants to go to Sweden to annoy her husband.
