Eugenie Bouchard suffered a form slump recently, but she’s climbing up the rankings once again. Moreover, she reached her first WTA final in four years after defeating Paula Badosa in the semi-final of the 2020 Istanbul Open. However, the most important question lingering on the mind of every tennis fan is: Will Genie Bouchard participate in the 2020 French Open?

Bouchard entered the final of the 2020 Istanbul open to dawn a new milestone in her fight to the top. But, unfortunately, she ended up losing the championship match against Patricia Maria Tig, who clinched her first WTA title with a dramatic ending to the finals.

Now, while this might seem optimistic, the chances Bouchard receiving the wildcard entry are really thin. Now, there is a list of criteria that the organizers follow while determining the wildcard picks. The nod is usually given to younger talents and players representing the organizing nation.

Players have entered as wild cards and even ended up winning the major. While that might seem inspiring, we really hope Bouchard gets a wildcard entry to the 2020 French Open, defying all odds. If not, keep going Genie. There’s always next year!
