Answering that question, Sinner said, “I don’t think about being the flag bearer at the Olympics. The Games will be a key moment in my career, it will be the first time I will participate.”

At 22, Sinner is already among his country’s most recognized athletes currently. Tennis at Paris Olympics is likely to take place on the clay courts. Although Sinner prefers playing on hard courts, the clay courts have been familiar to him since childhood. As a result, the Italian star will be one of the favorites going into that tournament. For now, Sinner is relishing his success Down Under. Recently, he also revealed what led him to success in Australia.

Sinner credits the support behind his victory

He said, “It means a lot. Maybe the most important. Because the support I get throughout now already years, it’s incredible. Being able to make them happy today, because I feel like that, they push me also, that I can believe in myself, and then having so much support, it’s amazing.”

Sinner will next feature at the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam, which will take place in a couple of weeks. It’ll be interesting to see if he can continue his winning run in the upcoming tournaments.
