Roger Federer won hearts again with his adorable speech at his honorary doctorate ceremony in Dartmouth. Revealing his polite personality, Federer thanked the department for his Doctor of Human Letters degree, Federer said- “Dartmouth, it has been an incredible honor for me. Thank you for the honorary degree. Thank you for making me part of your really big day.”

His face had that beautiful glee as he continued to speak about how he wanted to be a part of the class of 2024 Dartmouth with his sweet message. “I’m glad I got to meet so many of you these past few days, and if you are ever in Switzerland or anywhere else in the world, and you see me on the street, even 20 or your 30 years from now, whether I have grey hair or no hair, I want you to stop me and say, ‘I was there that day on the green. I’m a member of your class, the class of 2024,’ I will never forget this day, yeah”- said Federer.

While speaking, fans could spot Federer stopping at multiple times as he visibly seemed emotionally overwhelmed with this gesture. He was awarded this honorary degree for his incredible philanthropic work through the Roger Federer Foundation. Not to forget, this foundation has helped over 850,000 needy children in Africa and donated over $100 million for charitable works for underprivileged kids.

While Federer’s emotional message delighted fans’ hearts, he also impressed his fans by paying a special tribute to his wife and his children on this special achievement. After all, Federer is a family man who never fails to shower love to his family.

Federer was visibly emotional while giving a speech at his honorary graduation ceremony. However, he didn’t forget to mention his wife Mirka’s incredible contribution to his life. I feel so very lucky that my incredible wife, Mirka who makes every joy in my life, even brighter, and our four amazing children, Myla, Charlene, Leo and Lenny are here with me today. And more important, that we are here for each other every day”- said the Swiss former tennis maestro.

From his speech, his fans could understand that besides a tennis stalwart, Federer has been a family man. It also represented the humble side of his characteristic that won millions of hearts for more than a decade.
