Roddick’s take on the future plans of Roger Federer

The 2003 US Open champion in a recent interview addressed Federer’s absence and his return. Federer will soon participate in the Laver Cup for Team Europe, about which Roddick said, “I think he is smart to go back at these tournaments. The workload will be a little less…”

Thereafter, he added, “I think we are going to get a little bit of read. Is he going to play singles at laver cup Is it just gonna be doubles? We are gonna get to see what his movement’s like on that knee that’s had all those operations.”

He announced a break and underwent two surgeries to fix his injured right knee. Now, after missing the US Open for the third time, he is ready to make his comeback to the tour.

Further, the former world no.1 following the Laver cup will compete in the home tournament Swiss Indoors Basel. The ATP 500 tournament, which is making a comeback alongside its 10-time champion, will commence on 22 October and will crown the winner on 30th October.

Federer’s time off the court

The 20-time Grand Slam champion utilized his time away from the sport to the fullest. He at first made a trip to Malawi to witness the changes his Roger Federer Foundation has brought. He bounded with the kids, saw them study, and shared his inspirational journey with them.

Following that, the 41-year-old traveled to Rome and visited the 2022 Wimbledon Championships as a guest. The eight-time champion attended the 100th anniversary of the Centre Court and met his fellow professionals.
