Yesterday, he overcame the challenge of Brandon Nakashima to advance into the quarterfinals at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

Earlier in the tournament, Kyrgios knocked out the fourth seed, Stefanos Tsitsipas in one of the most thrilling matches at this year’s Wimbledon. The match had it all, with Kyrgios losing his cool on multiple occasions and arguing with the officials. Additionally, Tsitsipas also vented his frustration and smashed the ball into the crowd during the match. Recently, Pat Cash, the former Australian tennis player, called out his compatriot for his antics.

The 57-year-old slammed Kyrgios for his unsportsmanlike behavior during matches. He said, “He’s brought tennis to the lowest level I can see as far as gamesmanship, cheating, manipulation, abuse, aggressive behavior to umpires, to linesmen. Something has got to be done about it. It’s just an absolute circus.”

As a result of his behavior, Kyrgios has received fines on multiple occasions at the ongoing Wimbledon Championships. Earlier, in the first round, he spat toward a spectator after the match, as Kyrgios claimed the spectator was ‘disrespectful’ towards him. However, he received a fine of USD 10,000 as a result of his actions. Additionally, the 27-year-old got a penalty of $4000 for audible obscenity during his match against Tsitsipas.

Yesterday, Kyrgios won his fourth-round match against Brandon Nakashima in a five-set thriller. Talking about his performance, Kyrgios said, “I have played a lot of tennis in the past month and a half. I am proud of the way I steadied the ship after he came out firing in the fourth set.”

Further, he went on to add, “My five-set record is pretty good. That is what I was thinking about. I have played a lot of five-set matches here. That is what I was thinking about. I have been here before and I have done it again.”??
