Rafael Nadal is having a dream 2022 season. The Spanish legend is unbeaten at Grand Slam tournaments this year, having already won the Australian Open and the French Open titles. Yesterday, he had a thrilling five-set victory over Taylor Fritz of the United States. During the post-match interview after his quarter-final victory over Fritz, an interviewer asked Nadal about going off with the trainer midway through the match. Replying to this question, the former world number one said, “They can’t do much honestly. Doctor came, gave me some anti-inflammatories. The physio just tried to relax a little bit the muscle level. Nothing can be fixed when you have a thing like this.”

Further, he went on to add, “As I said before, I just wanted to give myself a chance, not easy to leave the tournament, not easy to leave Wimbledon even if the pain was hard. I don’t know, I wanted to finish, doesn’t matter with, I prefer to win but with the victory or the defeat, but all right, that’s what I did. I fought, proud about the fighting spirit and the way that I managed to be competitive under that conditions.”
