If only stirring the pot had a better example! Taylor Fritz was recently defeated by Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti in a five-set thriller at Wimbledon. However, just like his stellar performance, his girlfriend, Morgan Riddle’s, “over the top” activities from the box during his match against Alexander Zverev have made the headlines in the tennis world. We saw the German having a long chat with Fritz on the net shortly afterward, and everyone came up with their own theories, including a few controversial ones. Now, American tennis legend Lindsay Davenport shares her opinion on the matter!

After his loss, Zverev said that although Fritz and his team were “extremely respectful“, there were some people in the American’s box (“that are not maybe from the tennis world“) who were a “bit over the top.” Zverev likely referred to Riddle, who cheered loudly for her boyfriend. Riddle shared a few social media posts and is taking a dig at Zverev. She celebrated Fritz’s victory with social media posts pictures carrying the captions, “Cheer loud ladies” and “When you man wins for the girls.

The posts were removed eventually. Relating to the same turn of events, Davenport highlighted how Riddle posted a few stuffs on social media and took them down later on. She didn’t like the “drama” and added, “I hate to see that unfold around a player. In the Tennis Channel Live Podcast, the 48-year-old Davenport said Taylor Fritz is someone who had always had a fire in him.

However, he needs someone to provoke him and ignite that inside him. Although Davenport found that incident to be a bit “funny,” this time, it was a bit different.I actually liked that side from Taylor I don’t like that he has to deal with what his girlfriend is just doing and post,” said Lindsay Davenport.

Did Riddle take a sly dig at the recent controversies surrounding Zverev’s personal life? We don’t know, but while giving clarification about deleting the posts, she said, “There’s no bad blood between anyone.” She took them down as soon as she realized the misunderstanding and how blown out of proportion they had become by the media.

What was Taylor Fritz’s reaction to this incident?

“I can’t hear them” – Taylor Fritz reflects his thoughts on the claims put on by Alexander Zverev

Zverev and Fritz grew up together, playing against each other since their junior tour days. Both of these tennis stars met each other nine times in their careers, with Zverev leading the H2H against the American team by a 5-4 margin. They have had close fights over the years, but this year, the spice notched up a bit. Although Zverev mentioned, “I think Taylor is a great guy. I have absolutely no issues with him,” fans were curious to hear it from the American.

When asked about the same, Fritz said he thinks Zverev was a bit annoyed at some people in his box because he felt they were a bit loud while cheering for him. He added, “Honestly, I can’t hear (them). I don’t know. No big deal. I don’t really hear my box when I’m playing like that. I didn’t hear anyone being extremely loud.” Fritz also stated that Zverev is totally allowed to be annoyed if someone is being a bit annoying from the crowd, but he just wanted to know his/her name during their chat at the net.
