While Toni Nadal only compared him to Federer, Boris Becker drew a comparison with each of the big three players. After his former student lost to the young Spaniard in Wimbledon, he praised his game, comparing him to all the Wimbledon winners in the last two decades.

Now, Rafael Nadal’s uncle and childhood coach, Toni Nadal, has also jumped on the bandwagon. In a letter to El Pais, he compared the world number 1 to Roger Federer when he began his era of dominance.

He wrote, “He is full of confidence and in excellent shape, physically and technically. He reminds me of the irruption and superiority that Federer has shown since the end of 2003 and, above all, in 2004. His invincibility was so overwhelming that it was not until the arrival of a new generation that Roger found himself in difficulty. I have a feeling it will be the same, for a while, with Alcaraz.”
