Russian tennis star Andrey Rublev has said opened up on a side of himself as a tennis player that has often been the talking point around him.
Andrey Rublev says his self-control is still a work in progress
The big Russian has said that his self-control, while better than in his early years in tennis, is still a work in progress. Rublev has often struggled to put a leash on his temper on court.

Asked whether he has worked on that aspect of this game, during an interview with Spanish publication Marca, Rublev said, “I am the worst Top-10 in that regard, although it is true that compared to the past there has been a considerable improvement.”

2020, a year to remember for Rublev
He also made the main draw of the prestigious ATP Finals for the first time in his career. Although the tournament did not end well for him, he still finished the season ranked Number 8.
The performance this season was more of an affirmation of what 20-time Grand Slam Roger Federer had predicted about him.
Before the season, the Swiss Master predicted that the tall Russian will have a phenomenal 2020 and go on to win many titles. Speaking on ATP Tennis TV, Federer had said, “I say that Rublev’s going to something special.”

Rublev will head into the new season with an eye on more titles
The Russian’s all-out attacking game has caught the attention of the tennis world. With five titles under his belt this year, Rublev will head into the new season with supreme confidence, with an eye on more Tour titles.

The championship wins that he picked up on the men’s Tour this year will also give him the belief to gun for a Grand Slam next year.
Rublev holds a 1-0 lead over Federer in head-to-head battles. Their only meeting came at the Cincinnati Masters in 2019, with the Russian coming away with a comfortable 6-3, 6-4 win.
