Japan Open on Thursday saw a match with results that no one had expected. The match that blew everyone’s minds away. Tennis fans witnessed a match between a top-seeded player, Taylor Fritz, and Japanese tennis player Shintaro Mochizuki. Of course, everyone expected Fritz to win. But despite losing the first set to him, the Japanese star took it all away with an unexpected victory.

Even though this win was a big success for the local boy, it did not make the American look good, especially in front of his fans, as they did not mince words to bash him after the most upsetting loss he had ever faced.

Tennis fans leave no chance to bash Taylor Fritz as he loses to Shintaro Mochizuki

A tennis journalist posted about the tremendous loss that Fritz faced against the Japanese tennis player.

He wrote, “Unbelievable scenes in Tokyo, as #215 Shintaro Mochizuki, who didn’t have a single ATP win before this week, beat the defending champ and top seed Taylor Fritz 0-6, 6-4, 7-6(2) to reach the QFs in Tokyo. Came back from 2-5 in the 3rd set. ONE OF THE UPSETS OF THE YEAR!”

After this post, tennis fans started booing the Americans even more so than before. One of the first comments that came was, “Another choke from 2:5 when will it stop? Fritz’s worst top 10 of all time.”

People were insanely upset with Fritz’s performance, as they were expecting him to at least win against a player ranked below him.

The next comment was, “Fritz is just a clown.” Tennis fans were so upset about the loss that they even called the American names. Even though loss and victory are part of the game, fans did not expect him to lose against No. 215.

Another comment was, “Taylor Fritz is a generational fraud.” Fans even raised questions about his integrity and the ability to remain in the Top 10.

One of the fans wrote, “Nothing new for Fritz.” They were blown away by yet another loss that Fritz faced from a player who has a much lower ranking than him in the ATP tours.

The trail of comments did not end here. It continued as fans did not hesitate before writing negative comments about the failed match.

Fritz continued to get bashed by fans after his Japan Open loss

Another comment that hit the post was, “Fritz is one of the biggest bottle jobs I’ve seen.” People were highly disappointed as Fritz lost a match that he could have easily won as it was against a player who had never had an ATP win.

One more comment on the post was, “Some of these ATP players already have their mind on the Maldives?” This comment was totally made to show how players do not take these tournaments seriously and have their minds set on something else.

The last comment that bashed Fritz was, “You see that from Fritz more than you should from a top 10-15 player. Has trouble closing out matches and doesn’t adjust tactics during matches. Lacks a plan B. Saw him lose to Giron in Dallas in 2022 in a similar way.”

This comment was truly directed toward how Fritz has encountered a situation like before as well. And how players need to learn to adjust their game according to how their opponent is playing.
