Federer was not part of Team Europe as he had undergone a third knee surgery but he traveled to Boston to support his team. Roddick, on the other hand, visited the event and also talked to the Swiss Maestro in a light-hearted interview.

In a recent Twitter interaction, the American star was asked if he would be interested in taking up captaincy for Team World. Roddick was quick to respond, “Yes. I would.”

After seeing the response, another fan asked whether Roddick will be interested to take up captaincy from this year’s edition in London. The American wrote, “Not my call, and admittedly I don’t know all that goes into it, so would have to learn a bit more…… I think it’s a great event and would be open to a conversation for sure.”

For all that he had achieved in the sport, it will be great to have Andy Roddick back on a tennis court in the role of a mentor for Team World. Currently, the position is being held by John McEnroe with his brother Patrick acting as co-captain. It definitely remains a possibility for the event in the future.
