There were some great racket skills on display when Carlos Alcaraz pulled off a phenomenal comeback against Jannik Sinner after dropping the first set in the Indian Wells Masters semifinals. The high-octane rivalry between the young ATP sensations has now promoted the tennis community to compare them to the likes of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

After witnessing the three-set thriller contest between Alcaraz and Sinner, a journalist for the ATP Tour recently asserted the next generation has arrived, as he also drew parallels between the youngsters and ‘Fedal.’ Joining him on social media, Martina Navratilova also expressed her support for the viral statements.

The Spaniard was 1-6 down when he made a brilliant comeback to turn the semifinal match in his favor, as he won with a score of 1-6, 6-3, 6-2. When Alcaraz was 3-1 up in the second set, both the young ATP players made each other cover every inch of the court in their long rally. Sinner eventually clinched the point, while his opponent was all smiles as they played some great tennis.

While sharing a video clip of their rally, a journalist for the ATP Tour, Fred Meyer, recently tweeted, “Alcaraz and Sinner are like Nadal and Federer. No racket breaking, no gamesmanship, just exquisite tennis between two friends. The future is bright for tennis! 🇪🇸🇮🇹” Meyer’s social media post also caught the attention of Hall of Famer Martina Navratilova, who retweeted with a string of clapping hand emojis, “👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼”.

Alcaraz and Sinner are undoubtedly showing some signs that they might be forming the next ‘Big 3’ on the men’s circuit. Aside from their recent on-court performances at the BNP Paribas Open, the young ATP sensations dropped another ‘hint’ to prove that they might be the next Federer and Nadal.
