After Andy Murray‘s loss in the Italian Open against Stan Wawrinka, he faced an early exit from the tournament. He didn’t participate in the Roland Garros later because he prioritized Wimbledon participation. The Scotland-born tennis star is aiming to win at Wimbledon the third time. And he believes that he can take on the younger tennis players to emerge victorious, though many pundits feel it is unrealistic.

Murray was able to get the Wimbledon trophy for England after a huge gap of 77 years. And after his 2016 win, the star wants to do it again as a 36-year-old. Despite having the hip issues, Andy Murray firmly believes that victory is possible for him. The star recently opened up on how his first Wimbledon victory tasted like.

Andy Murray recently revealed the emotions he felt after his victory over Novak Djokovic at the Wimbledon finals in 2013. He said that the victory had brought him relief. The Brit star said, “It is just relief. Probably about five or six days after the final, it started to sink in and I started to enjoy it.” He further added that there was a lot of stress in the tournament and how victory rubbed off all those emotions.

And how would people have seen his career had he not won the prestigious competition? Murray had a blunt reply that his career would have been a failure without Wimbledon. He said, “I do genuinely believe that a lot of people would have viewed my career as being a failure had I not managed to win Wimbledon.”
