It has been quite a controversial year for Novak Djokovic, without a doubt. After winning three Grand Slam tournaments in 2021, 2022 has been disastrous for World No.1. Novak went to Australia to win his 21st Grand Slam title; instead, he had to leave the country because of his non-vaccination status.
Currently, the Serb is playing at the Dubai Tennis championships without the vaccination, as it was not mandatory there. ATP posted a tweet for the very first time about Novak after a while. They posted incredible statistics held by the Serbian. However, American tennis player Reilly Opelka took a dig at ATP after they posted about Djokovic.

Reilly Opelka’s dig at ATP for posting about Novak Djokovic
After a long time, ATP posted something about Novak Djokovic, as he is the no.1 in the World for 361 weeks in total. They tweeted, “Novak Djokovic has spent 361 weeks as World No. 1. That’s it. That’s the tweet.”
Before playing in the Dubai Open, Djokovic last played in November 2021 at the ATP World Tour Finals. Even though the Serb didn’t play for over two months, this statistic is still pretty impressive.
Meanwhile, the winner of this year’s Dallas Open, Reilly Opelka took a dig at ATP, as he said, “Pretty sure you can get canceled tweeting something like this..”

Even if he wins this tournament, there’s huge uncertainty over his next tournaments. He will probably miss the Indian Wells, scheduled for next month. Later, his participation at the French Open and Wimbledon is still in doubt.
