In the lead-up to the thrilling Djokovic-Dimitrov showdown at the Paris Masters, an unexpected blast from the past has surfaced. This clip offers a delightful glimpse into the camaraderie that once existed between these two tennis titans. Back in 2014, during Grigor Dimitrov’s press conference at the BNP Paribas tournament, Novak Djokovic decided to crash the party. In a spontaneous moment, the World No.1 casually strolled over and settled beside his Bulgarian counterpart. What followed was a friendly banter that left everyone, including the media, in splits.

The heart of this exchange was Novak Djokovic’s witty comment, proclaiming Dimitrov as the “best-looking guy on the tour.” Djokovic playfully diverted the conversation from tennis to Dimitrov’s looks saying: “You don’t need to talk about tennis”.

Dimitrov, ever the good sport, responded with a curious “What’s going on?” Novak, still playing along, got up from his seat and started leaving. He explained how he only wanted to listen to the interview. The Bulgarian told him that he could sit beside him, it was fine. This led to Djokovic inquiring about Dimitrov’s favorite Sugarpova candy, which was led to be a very important question. It was a moment of lightheartedness, a brief escape from the usual intensity of the tennis world. And for those who are curious, Dimitrov’s reply was Flirty Sour.

Djokovic and Dimitrov may be fierce competitors on the court, but off the court, they share a warm camaraderie that is evident in this rediscovered gem from their past. Their on-court history is equally impressive and engaging as their off-court friendship.

Novak Djokovic’s lead against Dimitrov

Even though Dimitrov is one of the best players in the tennis circuit, his stats are not too impressive in all his matches against Djokovic. They have a record total of 12 matches and Djokovic has won 11 of them. It will take Dimitrov an incredible strategy to finally beat the Serb and take the title.

Both the players have shown remarkable skills during the ongoing Paris Masters. Many even believe that Djokovic will win against his friend without breaking a sweat. Although, knowing how Dimitrov runs the court, he will surely make the World’s No.1 work a lot to get in the finals.
