‘You Have to Dial It Back’- Carlos Alcaraz Slapped With Harsh Reality Check as Novak Djokovic Turns ‘Role Model’ in Brutal Take

Carlos Alcaraz took the number 1 spot this year after his Wimbledon win. But Novak Djokovic stole it right back from him in the US Open. Since then, he has been aiming to take back the top spot. However, he has not managed to do so. A prominent tennis commentator believes that he has a lot to learn if he wants to stay at the top, and he has a perfect role model to look up to in the Serbinator.

If any tennis fan is asked about the best comebacks in tennis, many of them will be made by the Djoker. No matter the situation, he has managed to keep himself calm and focused and seems to make the return. 

Carlos Alcaraz has a great idol to look up to in Novak Djokovic

Carlos Alcaraz has been fighting to come back to rank 1 ever since he lost it in the US Open. However, the Spaniard has not managed to repeat his crazy feats and beat player after player on the ATP Tour. Ari Wolfe, a renowned tennis commentator, has seen a glaring problem in his game, which he discussed on his most recent appearance on the Tennis Channel Inside-In podcast. 

Wolfe stated that Alcaraz had a joy for the game and had big smiles, no matter who he faced. However, he has now let go of the joy and is focusing on leading the sport’s discussion.

“I think for himself, his expectations are higher. And so he doesn’t just seem to want to win. He wants to win and make highlight after highlight. I mean, he loves to make the perfect shot, the exciting shot he likes to play to the fans. So I think that’s all good.”

Wolfe further said, “But when you find a sticking point in the match, and you’re struggling a little bit, I think then you have to dial it back a little bit just kind of stay in the match early in a second set when you’ve lost a tougher set, and I think he’s let some sets get away from it. There’s a lot to be learned there. But he’s got no better role model to look up to handle it than Djokovic.”

Djokovic has faced adversity many times on and off the court. But the Serbinator manages to return to form regardless of his bout of issues.

Novak Djokovic has had some of the best comebacks in matches and on court. His 2019 Wimbledon final against Roger Federer is a prime example of the cool head he possesses. Federer had two match points, but Djokovic did not give up at any point. Going a little further back, after Djokovic won his first grand slam in 2008, he was faced with continuous bouts of illnesses.

But after appropriate examination, he was able to fix his problems and came back better than ever and has now won 24 slams. Alcaraz has shown immense potential by beating the Serb in the final. Now, he only has to overcome whatever barriers he is facing to snatch his rank back.
