In his honest response to Kyrgios’ controversial comments, Becker recently said that modern tennis players, including the Aussie, need to ‘respect the past of our sport.’ The Hall of Famer claimed that it is because of the former tennis pros that there are so many ‘monetary prizes’ and major ‘publicity’ in the modern era of tennis.

However, in his trademark fashion, Kyrgios was quick to issue an unfiltered response as he described Becker as “ridiculous.” The controversial tennis player tweeted, “NETFLIX…. Don’t remember seeing Boris on there 😂 guy is ridiculous. I’ve made my career off the court without the help of the others.”

In the comments section, a plethora of fans, however, were not pleased with the Aussie’s disrespectful remarks about the German tennis legend. A user said, “#13 was the best you ever got, Nick. There are a lot players ranked higher in their career like Kent Karlsson, Miloslav Mečíř, Tim Mayotte, Jay Berger, etc. (all former #10) that not a lot of people remember today. What do you think your legacy will be in 10-20 years? I doubt it will be about your achievements in tennis; rather about your shortcomings – on and off court. (Yes, people tune in for bad behaviour, controversy and drama. But is that what you want to be remembered for?)”

Meanwhile, a fan brutally slammed Kyrgios for mentioning his appearance in the tennis documentary series ‘Break Point.’ He commented, “honestly i just skipped the parts he was on the netflix show, he just wasn’t it”

Similarly, another fan criticized the Aussie for ‘flexing’ his appearance in the Netflix show, “This guy is now flexing Break Point on Netflix over Boris fucking Becker. BORIS BECKER. I’m sure that all 6 people who watched it would agree.”

A fan also said that it was Kyrgios who is now being “ridiculous” in his ongoing feud with Becker. The user commented, “Keep quite Nick, you’re being ridiculous. You just don’t understand simple grammar.”

A fan also lambasted the ‘bad boy of tennis’ for not respecting the ones ‘who backed him’ for a considerable period.
