In 2018, he also revealed that former American president, Donald Trump once offered him $1 million to play either Serena Williams or Venus Williams. Adding on to it, the 7-time champion recently took a cheeky dig at the 76-year-old Republican representative.

Being a prominent face, the former World No. 1 recently took part in Bill Maher’s podcast, Club Random. Like McEnroe in tennis, Maher is one of the most prominent faces in the American entertainment industry. Initially a mix of comedians, political commentators, and a television host, Maher started the above-mentioned podcast this year.
Conversing with McEnroe, the two spoke on a variety of matters pertaining to McEnroe’s tennis life and the one outside it. While the podcast had several catchy segments, what caught the limelight was McEnroe’s words on the 45th American president, Donald Trump.
Taking a dig at the former president, McEnroe?asked?Maher,?“Has anything in the 260 years history of our country been more unlikely than Trump winning?”
Being an experienced political commentator, Maher took no time to agree with McEnroe.?“No, he pulled an inside string,”?Maher admitted.
One may think that that was it from the former American player. However, he had more in his bag of thoughts. Going ahead in the conversation, McEnroe took yet another dig at Trump saying,?“That alone you’ve got to respect. Someone somehow did that. How in the world did he? He never ran for anything. The guy that’s never run for anything runs for president. And wins.”
