Emma Raducanu has certainly made it into the history books as she triumphed at the Flushing Meadows this year. While everyone is praising the Brit, Kim Clijsters gave a sensible piece of advice to the champion.

The 18-year-old British prodigy did the unimaginable as she accomplished her maiden Grand Slam all the way from qualifying. In the finals of the US Open 2021, Raducanu crumbled the Canadian Leylah Fernandez’s hopes of winning her maiden grand slam in straight sets.

Everyone around the corner is hailing the Brit. Kim Clijsters in a podcast with Kamau Murray had some wise words for Emma. First, Clijsters said she was thrilled to see Raducanu win the grand slam. She believes the 18-year-old has achieved something amazing. The four-time grand slam winner, Clijsters, stated, “She’s so innocent and natural out there.

Clijsters not only congratulated Raducanu, but she also gave her some advice. She feels that after winning a grand slam, people around you change. People expect more from you all of a sudden. The Belgian advises Emma to “not to get sucked into the fakeness of that kind of world.” When you win a major event, your entire world changes. The money, interviews, and notoriety are all attractive. However, Clijsters urged Emma not to get sidetracked as it might drain her energy.

Clijsters encourages Raducanu to concentrate only on her game because she will require more energy in the future. She hopes Emma’s management team is supportive and provides a positive work atmosphere for her.
