Becker’s support for Djokovic is not alien to the tennis fraternity. Becker coached Djokovic from 2014 to 2016 and helped him earn six of his 24 Grand Slams. When Becker faced one of his life’s most vulnerable situations, the Serb came forward in his support presenting an amazing teacher-pupil bond among the people. The time they have spent together gives Becker the confidence that Djokovic is the GOAT.

Boris Becker thinks Novak Djokovic is “probably the greatest player of all time”

Last year in Berlin, Boris Becker revealed how Djokovic supported him and his family when the veteran coach was in jail. During the promotion of a documentary based on his on-court achievements and life, Becker said, “Novak Djokovic became a family member. You know we had a professional relationship for many years and we parted ways in 2016, But we always stayed close and especially my time inside (prison) — he supported me, he supported my family.”

Becker also complimented the Serb and said, “I’m very proud that probably the greatest player of all time is part of a story of Boris Becker.” Becker’s comment reflected on the bond he shared with Djokovic.

Despite ending their professional collaboration, Djokovic always respected his former coach. Now during his time for the Olympics, Becker is wholeheartedly rooting for the Serb showing how tennis brings people closer and creates a lasting bond.
