Alcaraz recently returned to the clay courts to acclimate to the surface once again for the upcoming Paris Olympics. While he and Nadal have not practiced together so far due to different scheduling, the young ATP star turned to his friend and emergency contact, Pablo Carreño Busta, for training.
Alcaraz and Busta hit the courts from 11:00 to 13:00 on Monday. The training was mainly focused on sharpening their skills and building on their on-court chemistry. Carreño Busta, who won a bronze medal in doubles at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, already has a knack for this prestigious event. While Alcaraz is gearing up for his first-ever Olympic appearance, Busta’s presence came out to be a boon for him.

The clay swing brought a breakthrough moment for Alcaraz. The Spaniard, who always wished to lift the Musketeer’s trophy, took down Alexander Zverev in the finals to fulfill his dream. However, despite the massive achievement, the young champ was determined to not stop and therefore quickly made a shift to grass.
The grass swing did not start well for him as he lost his second match. However, it turned out to be productive for him as he successfully defended his Wimbledon title. The Spaniard took down Novak Djokovic in the finals, hitting another remarkable achievement. While the Olympics demanded him to generate a grip on the red dirt once again, he shared his concerns about it. “Well, it’s not easy to change surfaces in just a week,” Alcaraz said.
