Tennis might be his forte, but soccer runs in the veins of tennis legend Rafael Nadal. He is a well-known Real Madrid fan and unsurprisingly, the club’s love for the Spaniard is mutual. Back in 2019, the incumbent president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez, selected Rafael Nadal as the next president of the club. This could not have been short of a dream for the Spanish tennis legend.

Nadal has proved his proficiency in soccer on more than one occasion. So if Nadal goes there, we know one thing for sure, a huge lot of tennis fans will be exploring a new sport.
Florentino Perez once selected Rafael Nadal as Real Madrid’s next president
If you have ever seen Nadal kicking a soccer ball, you’d know how good a player he is. He might not be the best, but soccer players themselves have complimented his game. And his love for the La Liga giants, Real Madrid, has been evident on more than one occasion. As per the Spanish website Defensa Central, Florentino Perez made it very clear back in 2019 that he wants Rafael Nadal to be the next president of Real Madrid. He has always expressed his love and support for the tennis star and continues to do so.

Even before this announcement, in 2017, the tennis legend had expressed his desire to be the club’s president. Seems like yet another fan heard his wish. Perez felt Nadal had ‘Real Madrid DNA’ and will lead the club in a successful direction. Furthermore, he also said, “Nadal would be a magnificent choice for the presidency of Real Madrid.”
Some might wonder about Nadal’s keen interest in soccer. Well, the Nadal family has a history in the sport. The Spanish tennis legend’s uncle Miguel Angel Nadal started his career with Mallorca but during his peak years, played for the archrivals of Real Madrid, Barcelona. So, it is not a wonder from where Nadal gets his soccer genes.

Nadal shifts to a new house having sentimental value because of his soccer star uncle
After giving birth to a baby boy, Nadal and his wife are doing well. The couple is getting ready to start a new phase of their life in their dream house at Manacor’s Porto Cristo neighborhood’s highest point. The lavish home has a sentimental value as Nadal’s uncle and former soccer player, Miguel Angel Nadal, lives nearby in Manacor and he wants to be near his roots. Apart from that, his grandfather also owned some land which is near the soon-to-be-ready house.
