UFC President Dana White gave out a fairly controversial opinion about soccer. After his comment, Andy Murray and almost all of Instagram have made it a point to slam his stance. Sportbible released Dana’s comment on soccer on their Instagram account and Instagram has not been the same ever since. Eminent soccer personalities like Soufiane Touzani, Rob Holding, and Christian Kabasele have also commented on White’s “American” opinion.

Soccer fans have taken this as an opportunity to slam UFC and point out that even YouTubers are doing better than UFC players in life. Andy Murray’s comment in favor of soccer is no surprise, as he is an ardent fan of one of the greatest soccer players of all time, Lionel Messi.

Andy Murray leaves no room for a comeback

According to the post by Sports Bible, Dana White says, “…Can’t stand soccer…it’s the least talented sport on earth. There’s a reason three-year-olds can play soccer ok? You run around and kick a ball.”

This was during a podcast when White was asked how he made UFC go internationally famous. To answer this, White compared UFC to football and the video has gone crazy viral ever since. He also added, “When you’re playing a game where the net is this big right, and the score is 3-1, are you s**ting me right now? Do you know how untalented you have to be to score three points when the net is this big?”

As a reply to this statement, Andy Murray mocked the NFL and used White’s same logic against him. The 2-time Wimbledon champion said,

“Isn’t the goal in American football 🏈 slightly larger with no goalkeeper to protect it?” Following the Brit’s comment, fans have called Andy the GOAT and urged him to continue defending soccer.

However, it is not like Dana did not comment on his love for any other sport and only boasted about the UFC. He said he loves hockey and respects “how talented you have to be to play it.”

Fans who sided with White

On Twitter, there are in fact several fans who have sided with White about their mutual dislike of soccer. They have labeled it as “boring” and a “child’s sport”. Fans have also recollected memories of fellow high school soccer players and how they were the people with “no hand-eye coordination.”
