Roger Federer’s retirement was a big loss to the tennis world. Decades of marvelous moments on the court left fans with a plethora of memories. However, with his retirement, they would get to see a new side of GOAT. His skill for skiing is one that turned incredibly popular. This time, it was with a United States ski champion, Lindsey Vonn.

Vonn took to X to share her experience of skiing on snowy slopes with Federer with great admiration. She wrote, “Thanks for this memory Rog. You and your family are truly one of a kind and no matter what the statistics say (or Leo lol) you’re the forever GOAT.”

Roger Federer’s affinity for skiing is well known, with fans regularly enjoying pictures of the legend with his family. However, this time, the big surprise came from Lindsey Vonn, the US skiing champion who joined him for an adventure. Even for someone who skis competitively, to do so with Federer seemed to put Vonn on cloud nine.

Have to take some time to really reflect on what it this means to me… I have admired Roger as an athlete, philanthropist, and incredible champion for so many years. Normally, people you look up to always let you down in one way or another, but not Roger. Rog is the epitome of a true sportsman and champion in every sense of the word. We’ve been talking about skiing together for such a long time I wasn’t sure if it would happen…. But here we are; retired, skiing, and enjoying life!”

It did not keep her from turning into a full fangirl, going on to remark just how precious the opportunity was. Against all odds, Vonn and Federer managed to make it happen. A one-in-a-million chance turned into reality comes rarely and Vonn did not miss!
