A WTA 125K event recently wrapped up in Zhengzhou. The tournament was won by the local favorite, Qinwen Zheng. She won the final against Barbara Krejčíková in three sets after coming back from a set down. The comeback gave Zheng a humongous dopamine boost. During her celebration speech, Zheng was asked to do a peculiar activity: she had to sing! Unlike her enthralling match, her performance in front of the mic did not impress many fans as they tore her apart when the video went viral.

Tennis players are known to take part in various activities throughout the year. Singing is a hobby of many players, and they engage in it quite frequently. While some players have a great voice, Zheng’s singing did not sit well with many fans.

Elated after beating Krejčíková in a thrilling comeback, Zheng decided to sing a Mandarin song. However, her performance was less than impressive as she missed many notes. The video of her attempt at singing was shared by the official WTA ‘X’ page with the caption, “Hitting all the right notes this week 🎶“. Fans did not agree with the caption as they ridiculed her in the post’s comment section.

One fan stated that Krejčíková was suddenly happy to lose the final because she would have to sing had she won.

With many examples at our hands, we can conclude that tennis players love to sing their hearts out. However, as witnessed by the criticism poured on Qinwen, it’s safe to assume that tennis fans are a tough audience to showcase singing talents.
