‘Leave Pete Sampras Alone’- Serena Williams’ Ex-Coach Joins Irate Tennis Fans to Slam Media Juggernaut’s ‘Disrespectful and Hateful’ Act

American, Tennis legend Pete Sampras who retired from professional tennis in 2003, has always kept himself out of the limelight ever since taking his retirement. But three months ago he came to the headlines when he announced his wife Bridgette is battling ovarian cancer.

Then, recently he was yet again spotted in blue jeans and a deep green zip-up Nike jacket, grabbing some iced coffees from his local Starbucks in California. But a ‘disgusting’ and ‘disrespectful’ behavior towards Sampras from a renowned media house has led tennis fans including Serena Williams‘ ex-coach to spit venom on them on social media.

The 52-year-old tennis legend has taken very little TV work since his retirement and has always kept his personal life very much private. But a bizarre remark from the renowned media house during the tough times of his family has stirred a major controversy among his fans.

Daily Mail recently reported Pete Sampras’ reappearance in front of the public stating, ‘Tennis legend is completely unrecognizable as he is seen grabbing a coffee from Starbucks.‘ This remark on the tennis legend has upset quite a lot in the tennis world as they jumped on quickly to take a jibe at them.

One of them tweeted, ‘I would ask you if you had no shame but I already know you don’t and you’d lie about it anyway. Leave Pete Sampras alone. You know what his wife and family are going through right now. Disgusting, classless behavior.’

While another publicly called them a ‘trash publication.’ He added they should be ashamed of doing such ‘disgusting’ acts.

Serena Williams’ former coach Rennae Stubbs said, ‘You guys are TRASH! Firstly he looks fine. Secondly wtf kind of journalist is this. I could go into all the reasons why but it’s pointless. You’re pathetic!’

Pete Sampras is now 52. some wondered whether Daily Mail expected him to be in his 20s wearing a full-on Nike kit and holding a Wilson racket.

A few of them found it ‘extremely disrespectful’ and ‘hateful’ towards the tennis legend.

Pete Sampras has overcome a lot of challenges in his career while winning 14 Grand Slam titles. But his challenge off the court has been quite different over the last few months.

Sampras shares the challenges that he and his family is going through at the moment

His wife, Bridgette who has been a former Miss Teen USA and went on to become a successful actress as well has been battling with ovarian cancer as stated by Sampras himself in October last year. He wrote, ‘As most have come to know, I am a pretty quiet and private person. However, this past year has been an exceptionally challenging time for my family, and I have decided to share what’s been going on.

Then he went on to add, ‘Last December, my wife, Bridgette, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Since then, she has had major surgery, pushed through chemotherapy and continues with targeted maintenance therapy.‘ Tough times define tough people, fans now wish may Sampras and his family get the strength and courage to fight this battle.
