The tennis fans present at the Indian Wells jumped off from their seats in shock as they witnessed a scary moment during Tommy Paul‘s showdown against Daniil Medvedev. While the tennis star rolled his ankle right in front of the fans, their concerns about his further participation were highly raised. Such concerns proved to be valid as Paul was seen stepping on a similar mine once again.

After the Indian Wells scare, the American somehow managed to reappear at the Miami Open because of the low intensity of the injury. During his showdown against compatriot Martin Damm Jr., Tommy Paul once again rolled his ankle, seemingly hurting his leg in an even more serious way this time.

Although the 26-year-old was leading the match with a set already in his name, he had to accept his withdrawal from the tournament, facing an early exit. On the other side, his opponent Martin Damm Jr. appears to be lucky today, as he advanced to the next round, without even being a part of the hassles that Paul could bring his way if the match continued.

During his semi-final clash against Medvedev at the Indian Wells, Paul dominated the show until he got injured. This was also acknowledged by Medvedev himself, as he said, “He played an unbelievable first set, so I was like, ‘Okay, if I want to win, I have to try to do a little better and find the shot that can (put him) in trouble.”

While the world no. 14 is currently receiving immediate medical attention, the true intensity of his injury still remains to be unveiled. Given that Paul is extremely dedicated to his ‘job’, he might return stronger soon.
