

The hard court swing in the US Open is underway with the Miami Open that started this week. A highly-anticipated event marking the beginning of the tournament was hosted recently and it saw participation from quite a few top tennis players in the world. Venus Williams and Bethanie Mattek-Sands were spotted at the event and they spent some time behind the console, DJing for the party.

Taste of Tennis is an exclusive event that celebrates the tournaments on both the ATP and the WTA calendars. It describes itself as a ‘one-of-a-kind’ food and tennis experience that kicks off major tennis tournaments in New York City, Miami, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, Indian Wells, and Melbourne (AU).
Venus Williams turns out to be a Justin Bieber fan
Bethanie Mattek Sands posted about the event on her social media and was surprised by the first song that Venus Williams chose. While she said that they were being quite serious in keeping everybody’s song requests in mind, she also joked about how Justin Bieber was not the first choice she expected Williams to make.

The event is a confluence of sporting and culinary greatness. It guarantees appearances by some of the top players on both the ATP and WTA circuits as well as luxury food prepared by the best of the bests. Also present in the unique event is live entertainment, specially prepared cocktails, fine wines and lots of fun before going into battle mode at the tournament.

Other top players spotted at the event were Alexander Zverev, Garbine Muguruza and yesteryear star Monica Seles. Several top chefs were also present at the event, making it a roaring success.

Both Williams and Mattek-Sands have last played their professional matches in 2021 and are yet to make any appearances on court this year. While Venus’ last played at the Chicago Women’s Open last year, Mattek-Sands made her last appearance was at the 2021 BNP Paribas Open, where she lost in round of 16.
