Even after making a name for himself in the tennis world, the Swiss Maestro Roger Federer has no plans to slow down. He has been working tirelessly in his new roles as a businessman and investor. Fans got to see the new phase of Federer’s career at the recently concluded Met Gala, which showcased the Swiss legend’s ambitions outside of tennis. The magnitude of his popularity even overshadowed popular tennis events like the Madrid Open that is currently underway. Thus, it wasn’t a surprise when the beloved 20-time Grand Slam champion was included in the list of the top 10 highest-paid athletes in the world.

It’s been more than six months since the tennis player has been out of action. But he still gives tough competition to other active athletes, not just in tennis but in the entire sports realm. In the latest list of the highest paid athletes, he gave fellow tennis legends like Novak Djokovic, Serena Williams, and Rafael Nadal, a run for their money!

Roger Federer sets a unique record, again!

Forbes recently shared their highly anticipated list of the top 10 highest-paid athletes in the world. While the list has the names of a few well-known athletes, including soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo and NBA superstar LeBron James, the only player from the tennis circuit is the 41-year-old Swiss ace.

Cristiano Ronaldo claimed the top spot on the list with nearly $136 million in earnings this year. After NBA player Stephen Curry, Federer, the only tennis player on the list, was ranked ninth. The 41-year-old tennis star has $95.1 million to his credit. Out of which he has earned $95 million off the tennis court. And the rest was accrued from his tennis domain, valued at $0.1 million.

Furthermore, Forbes also outlined that, despite the tennis players’ prolonged inactivity, he has managed to outshine his fellow stars on both the ATP and WTA circuits. The former world number one has a dozen long-term sponsorships that have lasted even after his retirement. He also disclosed a licensing arrangement with Oliver Peoples for his RF brand last month. In addition, he also has sizable ownership in one of the fastest-growing shoe firms is the world, the Swiss shoe manufacturer On.

A few days ago, a list of the top 50 paid athletes in history that was just recently published went viral on social media. The Swiss maestro, who holds about $1.38 billion to his name was ranked ninth by Sportico. Djokovic and Nadal aren’t close to him, though, when you look at the list.

The top-ranked tennis player in the world is placed in position 41, while the Spaniard is in position 28, with a net worth of almost $660 million. Other tennis players also made it to the elite list, such as Serena Williams and Andre Agassi. However, no one could topple the ‘King of Grass’.
