Moments ago, Ukrainian star Elina Svitolina took to her Twitter, announcing that she and beau, Frenchman Gael Monfils are expecting their first child in October this year. Posting an intimate picture with Monfils, she wrote, “With a heart full of love and happiness, we are delighted to announce that we are expecting a baby girl in October.”

The announcement gained mileage within minutes with fans and followers pouring in their best wishes for the couple.

The announcement comes in as a slight sigh of relief for the couple who have been in distress following the Russia-Ukraine crisis. Since the start of the crisis between the two countries, both the players have been vocal about their call for peace between the two nations. Even though one might disagree, the stress of the situation has largely affected their on-court performance as well.
