Andre Agassi reveals success mantra of tennis

Recently, Agassi and Graf were involved in a keynote discussion at NBAA-BACE in Las Vegas. Ahead of the discussion, the two stopped by for an interview with BJT. During the interview, Agassi responded to the question about what it takes to operate at such a high level of performance in tennis.

Talking about this, Agassi said, “Well I mean let’s look at it this way when you play Wimbledon at 13 years old like Stephanie did or turn pro at 16 like I did I mean imagine what you have to do with your life just to even be in position to do that right. So there’s the discipline, the work ethic you know the intensity of focus and the constant pursuit of never reaching perfection right.”

Further, he went on to add, “That has to almost be almost a sick mindset right no matter how good I am compared to people around me I got to get better I got to get better.”

The Serb had one of the most successful seasons of his tennis career. He won three major titles this year and came close to achieving a Calendar Year Grand Slam. Nonetheless, his consistent run across tournaments left Stich in awe.

He said, “If someone had told me that the performance of the best would extend so far back, I certainly wouldn’t have believed it. I wouldn’t have thought it possible that Djokovic has now reached 24 wins.”
