Stars like Coco Gauff, Frances Tiafoe, and Ben Shelton have made it to the latter stages of the tournament. Further, the men’s singles quarterfinal clash will witness Tiafoe up against Shelton. After Gauff’s win over Wozniacki, the American sensation opened up about her conversation with Tiafoe and Shelton. The three got together as Gauff had just finished her fourth-round match and Tiafoe and Shelton were practicing together.

Describing their conversation, Gauff said, “They already started the trash talk. I’m indifferent who wins, but I did say that Frances is a little bit upset because I said Ben had the better outfit than him.”

Subsequently, Tiafoe was asked to comment if his outfit was better than Shelton’s, as Gauff had judged. Laughter burst across the room as Tiafoe had a hilarious reply. He said, “Yeah, she’s all loving Ben’s light-skin energy, I guess(smiling). I think my outfit is much better, you know what I mean?”

It looked as if Gauff had high expectations from Tiafoe’s outfit, but was disappointed with the way it panned out. She even went on to compare it with Carlos Alcaraz’s outfit.

During the same interview, the 19-year-old went on to reveal that Tiafoe had told her that he had something crazy planned for the US Open this year with respect to his outfit. Further, with a smile on her face, she continued, “I was like, ‘You’re wearing confetti (laughter).’ I said Carlos looked better. He’s going to hate this (smiling).”

Meanwhile, Gauff is making a fashion statement on the court too. She has been wearing vibrant outfits that have matched her colorful display on the court. She’s into the quarterfinals of the tournament and will face Jelena Ostapenko next.
