However, despite all the challenges and pressure, the young Spaniard was still smiling during the stressful matchup. Taking note of the same, American WTA superstar, Coco Gauff, was all praise for her male counterpart during her stellar run at the US Open.
While drawing inspiration from the world No. 1 on the ATP Tour, the American tennis prodigy asserted that she now finds the game much more “enjoyable.” Now, after receiving plaudits from Gauff, the 2-time singles Grand Slam champion issued a heartfelt response to the American teenage sensation.

Carlos Alcaraz reacts to Coco Gauff’s assertions about his joyful personality
After his second-round victory against Lloyd Harris in the US Open, the Spaniard was reminded about how he has inspired another young tennis star in Coco Gauff. Further, in his on-court interview, Carlos Alcaraz was asked about his uncanny attitude of remaining positive and joyous despite losing matches.
It came to the public lens on Twitter after the official page of The Tennis Letter shared a video clip of his heartfelt conversation at the US Open. Alcaraz said, “We try. Sometimes it’s tough to enjoy. But I try to enjoy myself on court.”

The 20-year-old opened up about how he always tries to enjoy his matches despite being in a tense situation on the court. He added, “Having a smile during the match, making jokes with my team.. I don’t mind if I win or lose.”
Irrespective of the result, Alcaraz will still give his opponents a “high five” after their fierce encounters. In his honest response, the young Spaniard added that he tries his best to make the game enjoyable for the spectators.
The defending US Open champion’s positive attitude was fairly evident during his recent matchup against Novak Djokovic.

Alcaraz’s impressive demeanor after his championship match against Djokovic
The top two ranked ATP players once again squared off against each other during the North American hard-court season. After a three-set thriller 5-7, 7-6(7), 7-6(4) on the outdoor hard court, it was the current world No. 2 who prevailed in his championship match against Alcaraz in the Cincinnati Open. However, despite his heartbreaking defeat, the Spaniard once again showcased his positive demeanor when he hailed his fierce rival.
In his post-match speech, Alcaraz asserted that it is an honor to play against and “share the court” with the 36-year-old tennis legend. He further opened up about how he has got to learn a lot about the game from a “champion” like the ‘Djoker’.
