The frequent ball changes on the tennis circuit have attracted a lot of criticism from both the ATP and WTA players. Nick Kyrgios, who has been on the sidelines due to his injury woes, asserted that the weekly ball changes were a potential reason for his Serb colleague Novak Djokovic‘s surprising defeat at the United Cup.

During his campaign at the international event, the current number one player faced problems with his right wrist, which also forced him into an injury timeout during his quarterfinal defeat against Alex de Minaur. After the ‘Djoker,’ another player, Lauren Davis, has now picked up an injury ahead of the Australian Open. While proving Kyrgios’ point, the American player called the changes in balls the reason behind her recent struggles.
