After facing an embarrassing exit from the Shanghai Masters, the 25-year-old Greek tennis player has been in controversy because of his downfall. The main query is whether his girlfriend is to blame for his slide or whether it is the disturbing form he has been carrying as a result of injuries. Tsitsipas, in a press conference during the European Open Media Day, spoke on this topic regarding his focus on tennis while stating the perfect reply to the haters.

He said, “People who say I’m not focused on tennis anymore? I’m training more than I ever have in my career. I don’t want to prove anything to anyone, except to myself, to prove to myself that I am capable of regaining my level. I believe it.”

Along with that, he also made his stand quite clear regarding how he is working harder than ever and playing with full trust in himself. After winning the Los Cabos Open, the seventh-ranked tennis player has made quite an early exit from every tournament he has participated in, including the US Open itself.

When tennis fans questioned Tsitsipas’ form

The 25-year-old tennis star, who came into the tournament as one of the favorites, suffered a defeat against Ugo Humbert in the second round of the tournament. While a lot of fans expected Tsitsipas to win the match, fans lashed out at him regarding his defeat.

A fan claimed that he had been suffering a downfall because of a coaching situation. He wrote, “Is it me, or has Tsitsipas been on a steady downhill ride since around April/May….I think his head is all messed up…and his coaching team sucks….’

The second spectator expressed his dissatisfaction with how the Greek player’s situation had changed on the tennis court. He said, “I can’t recognize Tsitsipas, I don’t know what happened to him this year. Why did you lose your level man, come on.”
