Keeping in mind the degrading environmental conditions, a lot of people around the world are switching to sustainable and environment-friendly products. And for various brands and companies to sustain themselves in the long run, they are also focusing on manufacturing products in the market that people would use in order to safeguard the environment.
With the same thought in mind, Swiss tennis legend, Roger Federer owner of a $10 billion brand also chose to go the ‘environment-friendly’ way. This move from his company can prove to be revolutionary as not many brands have adopted the technique and ideology yet. The Swiss Maestro’s move can prove to be heavily profitable for the brand and of course for the environment.

Roger Federer’s company On Running makes a sustainable move for the environment
The tennis legend Roger Federer started the company On Running to bring better and movement-friendly sportswear to athletes around the world. But with the changing times, it is important to change the narrative of the brand as well. And as of now, the need of the hour is bringing in products that are more sustainable and a friend to the environment.
With that goal in mind, the company has launched its Cyclon program. Under this program, people can subscribe to apparel and shoes that once worn out can be returned and they will be sent a new pair or new apparel in place of that. The whole segment of his program is divided into Cloudneo- a subscription for shoes, and Cyclon-T, a subscription for t-shirts.

The great thing about the shoes that the company will be providing under this program is that they are made of castor beans so they are recyclable. And the same goes for tees. They will never be needed to be trashed as once they are worn out, you can get new ones in place of that.
On one hand, Roger’s brand is making moves to bring a change. Another tennis player owned branded, EleVen by Venus (Venus Williams), on the other hand, has made no such news as of now. Could this prove to be a fatal point for her brand as On Running takes over?
Will Venus Williams’ brand suffer for not being sustainable?
Former world no. 1 Venus Williams started her own sportswear line for athletes to bring a better quality activewear that allows players to perform better. Her main focus for her brand has always been making activewear fashionable. And even though, that is one of the things that makes her brand stand out, not being environment-friendly can push her brand back in the long run.

If you compare the net worth of Roger’s brand which is $10 billion, EleVen by Venus’ net worth as of May 2023 was only $95 million dollars. And now with the subscription model, On Running is bound to make even more profit.
