A statement from the 21-year-old read, “Unfortunately I woke up with some stiffness in my right wrist this morning, so therefore I have decided to make the very tough decision to withdraw from the mixed doubles.” However, after playing doubles with his brother, he poured his heart out sharing the thought of leaving the sport behind.

Andy Murray wants to play tennis ‘forever’

In his final Wimbledon match, Murray got off to a poor start and broke down in front of his adoring supporters before acknowledging that he had never wanted to give up. I want to play forever, I love the sport and it’s given me so much. It’s taught me loads of lessons over the years I can use for the rest of my life. I don’t want to stop so it is hard.”

Despite his determination and resilience, these cumulative injuries have taken a toll on his ability to compete at the highest level, signaling that his illustrious career might be nearing its end.
