In a recent interview, Lloyd revealed that Grigor once had the potential to reach the levels of Andre Agassi and Bjorn Borg. However, he failed to live up to the tennis world’s expectations. He further believes that due to his insufficient success on the tours, he could not make it big enough to land the stardom that he deserves.

He then went on to mention the fact that he was the guy who dated tennis beauties, Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova. Anyone who can do this kind of this deserves great respect. “He’s had a few high-profile relationships. I mean, anybody that can date Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams, you’ve got to respect that. Holy cow, that’s a pretty big duo and then of course he was with Nicole Scherzinger. He’s kind of flirted with it but he’s not a good enough player to make that next jump,” he revealed in a podcast with ‘Rock n Roll’.

One of the reasons the heated rivalry between Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams was considered as one of the most intense in the history of women’s tennis was their relationship with Grigor Dimitrov. In an interview with Rolling Stones back in 2013, the former American player did not hold back and fired words at Sharapova, which hurt the Russian star.

She did not hold back and called Grigor a person with a ‘black heart’. “She begins every interview with ‘I’m so happy. I’m so lucky’ – it’s so boring,” says Serena in a loud voice. She also advised her that if she wants to talk about something, she can discuss her relationship with a person who is already divorced and has kids rather than discussing hers.

Thus, the intense rivalry between the two legends gained more heat with the introduction of Grigor Dimitrov. However, the two former greats had nothing but respect for each other’s on-court accomplishments. At present, both Serena and Sharapova remain on good terms and the same goes for their relationship with Dimitrov.
