The tennis community recently got to witness a one-night Tie Break Tens showdown before the commencement of the Indian Wells Open. Some of the top-ranked players, including Ben Shelton and Emma Navarro, teamed up for a short tennis format, the Eisenhower Cup. As the American duo managed to prevail in this tiebreak tens event, they bagged a whopping $200,000 prize purse.
Shelton was recently singing the praises of his compatriot as she delivered some spectacular performances in their mixed doubles game. The young ATP sensation further hailed Navarro as the ‘GOAT’ after they marked a triumphant campaign in the pre-BNP Paribas Open event.
In her latest Instagram post, the WTA player shared glimpses of her doubles match victory against Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa. She also added the caption, “loved watching @benshelton serve go by me at the net last night thanks for having us @tiebreaktens.” In the comments section, her male counterpart, Shelton, was quick to react as he said, “Ur the 🐐”

The American tennis stars recently overcame the duo of Tsitsipas and Badosa with a score of 10-8 in an unconventional format of the racket game. As the participants locked horns in a short tennis format with only tie-break matches, there were no games or sets in the Eisenhower Cup. A duo who managed to score 10 points with a margin of two was announced as the winner.

The American ATP player performed brilliantly in both the Dallas and Mexican Opens, where he secured a semifinal and quarterfinal finish, respectively. Shelton will now look to continue his great on-court momentum at the Indian Wells Masters, where he will lock horns with qualifier opponent Jakub Mensik or Seong-chan Hong in his opening match.
