Kyrgios thought he was “better” than Williams during their doubles match
In the 2014 International Premier Tennis League, Nick Kyrgios and Serena Williams were paired for the Singapore Slammers. The match did not end in their favor. Kyrgios discussed the match, saying she was trying to do everything when he played mixed doubles with her at IPTL. And it was the most painful match for him. He further stated how he thought that he was better than Williams during the game.
On his No Boundaries podcast, Kyrgios said, “I’ve hit with Serena before. I played mixed doubles with her at IPTL and it was the most uncomfortable experience for me because she was trying to do everything. And I was like ‘I’m better than you’.” The remarks are opposite to Kyrgios’ opinions on playing doubles with Venus Williams at Wimbledon. According to the Australian, Venus is a “legend” in the sport and that it was a “dream come true.”
