Now, after her explosive statements, the 20-year-old has finally decided to part ways with Serena Williams? former coach and his head coach, Patrick Mouratoglou. It is the legendary French coach who has now provided an unfortunate update on his partnership with the Dane.

Serena Williams? former coach’s emotional note for Holger Rune

In the previous season, the Danish tennis star joined hands with Patrick Mouratoglou, who became a part of his coaching team alongside Lars Christensen. Under the French tennis coach’s “9 months” tutelage, the 20-year-old bagged the 2022 Paris Masters title by outshining Novak Djokovic in the championship match.

But now that they have parted ways, Mouratoglou was quite emotional while reminiscing about such great victories with the current world No. 4. The 53-year-old recently took to Twitter in order to share a heartfelt message reflecting on his partnership with the ATP player.

He said, “What a ride @holgerrune2003 ! In 9 months, winning Paris, playing final of Monte Carlo and Rome, winning Stockholm and Munich?. From 30 to no4 ATP. Unfortunately, all the stories have to come to an end.”

Even after his split with the Dane, Mouratoglou asserted that he would always be his supporter throughout his competitive tennis journey. The legendary coach added, “I took the utmost pleasure with you and I will always be your supporter. All @mouratoglouacademy stays behind you. Good luck my friend.”

Prior to their official split, Rune’s mother made it quite clear that their partnership had run its course as she issued some explosive statements about his two coaches.

There were some ‘ego issues’ in Rune’s coaching team

According to some candid revelations from the Danish tennis star’s mother, things just “didn’t work out” between Rune and Mouratoglou. She further revealed how there were some ego clashes between Rune’s coaches. Mouratoglou and Christensen’s ‘ego issues’ were quite evident during the ATP player’s participation in Grand Slam events.

During his campaign at the grass-court major event this season, Rune was under the guidance of Christensen. Meanwhile, the French tennis coach remained absent throughout the 20-year-old player’s ‘quarterfinal’ run at the Wimbledon.

But things were different during the clay major event when the 53-year-old was there alongside the Dane. Christensen, on the other, was the one this time whose absence was glaring at the French Open this season.
