A lot of tennis players, who were quite active on Twitter, also lost their blue tick mark, and are unhappy with the changes. But among those names, one tennis legend, Jimmy Connors, recently shared his take on not having the verification badge.
A few days back, tennis players Serena Williams and Roger Federer got their badges back. Connors is still without the verification sign, including Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert.

On a recent episode of his Advantage Connors podcast show, the 70-year-old tennis veteran talked about the ongoing blue tick saga. The tennis icon and his son, Brett Connors, discussed how numerous tennis players, including himself, no longer enjoys the blue tick privilege on the social media platform. The former tennis star then expressed his opinion on losing the blue tick verification mark in the conversation. And emphasized the fact that, unlike Federer and Williams, who received their verification badges a few days after losing it, he still had not received his.
The eight-time Grand Slam champion is pleased with the way he presents himself to the crowd and is mindful of how he raises his voice. Additionally, he displayed an incredible amount of faith in his fan base. Demonstrating that they will undoubtedly recognize him even in the absence of the verification mark.
He said, “Yup, Yup, you can still listen to me. You’ll hear it in my voice when I do put something on Twitter. You’ll know it’s me.”
A few days earlier, Elon Musk announced his new policy of $8/month, payment to get the verification mark while removing practically all blue badges. But after he removed everyone’s verification mark, there was an explosive debate over whether famous individuals, who have made names for themselves, must pay a fee to be recognized on social media.
Nevertheless, the blue tick has caused havoc for everyone on the tennis circuit whether they are veteran players or rising stars. Recently, 19-year-old tennis prodigy Coco Gauff made fun of the Blue Bird app since she had also lost her blue tick.

The tennis star, who is ranked sixth in the world, was really upset over losing her Twitter blue tick. The 19-year-old tennis player issued a tweet after her blue tick was taken away by Twitter. She did not hesitate to take a dig at the social media platform.
Gauff stated in a deleted post that she noticed her blue tick mark was missing when she opened her Twitter account. She also admitted that she doesn’t even pay for her own Netflix subscription. Consequently, she stated that she finds it crazy that anyone would expect her to pay for the blue tick.
