Chris Evert handles criticism in style

Just a few days ago, the seven-time French Open champion supported Djokovic in the greatest of all-time debate, leaving Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal behind. She chose the Serb for the historic milestones he has etched in the tennis world. After this seemingly controversial take, a fan pointed out how Evert’s opinion did not fully portray an accurate picture in her response to the GOAT debate.

In that tweet, the fan mistakenly wrote the American tennis legend’s name wrong, creating an ultimate mishap in his projection. Looking at that tweet, the 68-year-old tennis veteran replied in no time, giving a 6-word message. She wrote, “ok, I will…but please at least spell my name right…”

Earlier this year, an old picture, including the retired American tennis player, went around social media. It was a picture of legendary sports icons that had Evert, and other legends, including Billie Jean King. While the Hall of Famer shared a picture stating how she still cherishes the moment as it’s hanging up on her wall, a 64-year-old American sports writer, Rick Reilly, commented that the photo is real while misspelling her name.

While the famous American writer might have made the minor mistake unknowingly by typing the tennis legend’s name wrong, she commented on the same post and corrected the error while bashing the reporter for going the wrong way.
