She chose the Serb for the historic milestones he has etched in the tennis world. After this seemingly controversial take, a fan pointed out how Evert’s opinion did not fully portray an accurate picture in her response to the GOAT debate.
In that tweet, the fan mistakenly wrote the American tennis legend’s name wrong, creating an ultimate mishap in his projection. Looking at that tweet, the 68-year-old tennis veteran replied in no time, giving a 6-word message. She wrote, “ok, I will…but please at least spell my name right…”

While the whole conversation was all about how Djokovic can never try to beat his big three rivals in terms of popularity, even if he achieves a lot more titles than the other two, The six-time US Open champion’s professional opinion somehow turned out to be personal, as she was not happy with the way the fan took his name in the wrong manner.
Nevertheless, this is not the first time the 18-time Grand Slam champion corrected someone’s mistake on social media for putting up her wrong name. A few months ago, she also corrected a journalist’s ‘mistake over the same concern.
When Evert corrected a journalist’s glaring mistake
Earlier this year, an old picture, including the retired American tennis player, went around social media. It was a picture of legendary sports icons that had Evert, and other legends, including Billie Jean King. While the Hall of Famer shared a picture stating how she still cherishes the moment as it’s hanging up on her wall, a 64-year-old American sports writer, Rick Reilly, commented that the photo is real while misspelling her name.
