Horrifying scenes erupted as a crash turned tragic, killing a schoolgirl and injuring numerous others. The girl, who was just 8 years old, passed away in a car crash that took place outside The Study Prep school in Camp Road. The news was announced by a police officer, who couldn’t hold back her emotions.

Police Officer reveals tragic news in tears at Wimbledon

The video of a police officer announcing the saddening news about an 8-year-old schoolgirl’s death in a car crash quickly went viral across the internet. While opening up about the turn of events, the police officer got teary-eyed. Revealing about the incident, the police officer went on to say, “We were called shortly before 10am after a car collided with a building at the Study Prep school on Camp road,” as reported by Express. Further, she broke out the tragic news about the schoolgirl’s death, saying, “Very sadly, an eight-year-old girl died at the scene. Our thoughts are with her family at this incredibly difficult time.”

The driver, involved in the crash, was a woman in her 40s. She was arrested later for dangerous driving and causing the schoolgirl’s death. The lady remains in police custody with further inquiry set to take place.

Paramedics rushed to the scene

In the aftermath of the horrific tragedy, paramedics rushed to the spot to take control of the situation. As many as 15 people were seriously injured in the incident apart from the girl’s death. Paramedics treated them on the spot with 10 people later taken to the hospital.
