Given her long list of accolades in the tennis realm, Venus Williams has long been recognized as a trailblazer in the sport’s history. After establishing her position as a legendary figure in the tennis circuit, the 43-year-old recently got inclined towards another similar sport, pickleball. For her stint in the new racket game, the former world No. 1 was accompanied by the young Spanish tennis sensation, Carlos Alcaraz.
The iconic tennis duo recently delighted the audience with their stellar performances in a pickleball exhibition event. However, after pairing up with Venus, Alcaraz has now changed his choice for a ‘team-up’ on the court, ahead of the US Open. Taking note of the same, the 7 singles Grand Slam champion showcased her envious side owing to her pickleball partner.

Venus Williams gets ditched by her pickleball partner, Carlos Alcaraz
After playing a pickleball match alongside Venus, the young Spaniard recently teamed up with another legendary WTA player, Iga Swiatek. Both the currently ranked world No. 1 players in the tennis circuit, showcased their latent talent for soccer, ahead of the Grand Slam event in New York.
Their amazing soccer skills were on display on the tennis court at the US Open Kids’ Day event. It came to the public lens on Instagram after the ATP player shared some pictures of himself alongside Swiatek during the soccer event. He also added a caption, “Kids Day! 👨👩👧👧🎾🇺🇸🥰 @iga.swiatek”

Later, Venus Willaims also came across that post while also found out how the 20-year-old player has now changed his on-court choice. In the comments section, the American tennis icon consequently expressed her jealousy by hilariously saying, “I got replaced so fast…!”
It received a quick response from the Wimbledon champion who said, “i thought we were at pickleball”
Given their recent social media interactions, Williams and Alcaraz have now participated in a lot of exhibition events prior to the US Open, where they are all set to kick off their respective campaigns.

Who will Williams and Alcaraz face during the US Open?
The defending champion has once again entered the hard-court major tournament as the top-seeded player. In the first round of the Grand Slam event in New York, the 20-year-old will lock horns with the unseeded German player, Dominik Koepfer. Venus, on the other hand, will start this season’s campaign as a wild-card participant and with a lot of skepticism surrounding her fitness levels on the court. For the first-round fixture, the 43-year-old is set up for a matchup against the Belgian tennis player, Greet Minnen.
